Willie Lee Allen Sr, age 66, son of the late Walter Chandler and Josephine Legrand Allen was born in High Point, NC on July 6, 1955. He departed his earthly life on December 26, 2021, at the Hospice Home of High Point.
“Kool Will,” as we called him, attended High Point City School and later moved to Brooklyn, NY to make that his home for over 20 years until he relocated back to High Point.
Will was known for his unique sense of humor. He enjoyed fishing and a good card game. He was a hard-working father who loved his kids and was very proud of his grandson.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis Allen, Jerry Allen, and Robert Chandler, sister Helen Henry, and Auntie/Ma, Helen McDonald.
Surviving to cherish those special memories are one son, Willie Allen Jr. and his fiancé of Reno, NV; one daughter, Tanika Harvey of Brooklyn, NY; grandson, Xavier Alexander of Reno, NV; two sisters, Virginia (Ronald) Payne, and Georgia (David) Eller, both of High Point, NC; brother-in-law, Walter Henry, two sisters-in-law, Christine Allen, and Willie Holley Allen, both of High Point, NC. He had a host of friends, cousins, nephews, and nieces; one being special and very dear to his heart, Angela Payne, of High Point, NC. He also had a close long-time friend, Faye Jackson.
