Vondella Wright Savage, 44 of Brooklyn, NY received God's call for eternal rest on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She was welcomed into this world by Myrtle Lee Wright and Elliot Ratley Jr. on October 7, 1969 in Brooklyn, NY.
She attended PS 298 and Thomas Jefferson High School. Vondella was a life-long resident of Brooklyn, NY. She was married to Calvin Savage. Vondella was a loving and caring person. She never met a stranger. She was always the life of the party making everyone laugh. "Von" as she was affectionately called loved spending time with her family and friends especially her two sons and grandchildren. Her former employer was for F.J.C. of Brooklyn, NY as a Security Guard until her health failed.
Vondella was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Lee Wright; two sisters, Kathy Wright and Janice Wright-Jones.
She leaves behind cherished and fond memories to: two sons, Naheem Battle of the home and Calvin Wright of Brooklyn, NY; three grandchildren, Janiya Jones and London Wright of Brooklyn, NY and Isiah Wilder of Miami, FL; her devoted father, Elliot Ratley of Brooklyn, NY; five sisters, Annie (Robert) McCall of Clio, SC, Betty Wright of High Point, NC, Deloris "Gal" Wright of Harrisburg, PA, Myrtle Lee "Gave" Wright, Michelle "Fire" Wright both of Brooklyn, NY; one half sister, Kimberly Ratley of Brooklyn, NY; five brothers, Charles "Bay-Bay" Wright of Clio, SC, Elliot "JB" Wright of Brooklyn, NY, Steven "Nip" Wright of Harrisburg, PA, Randy Wright of Brooklyn, NY, Delton "Lil Man" (Shauntel) Wright of Cleveland, OH; half brothers, Paul Ratley and Hakeem Ratley both of Brooklyn, NY; special nieces, Julita Wright-Wilson of Greensboro, NC, Precious Wright and Quantaysia Wright of Brooklyn, NY; special nephew, Jeffrey Tyler Jr., "Von's snoopy" of Brooklyn, NY.
Special friends, Angela Hodge, Derrick Brown and Otis Smiley of Brooklyn, NY; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
