Versie Ann Miller, affectionately known to family as VAM, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 17, 1953. She departed this life after 71 years, following a brief illness. Versie completed high school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduation, she furthered her education in computer management, which led her to obtain a position with Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, which later became Verizon, and after over thirty years, she retired. Versie’s hobbies included her love for bid whist, spades, card games, cheering on the Eagles as an avid fan, dancing, traveling, visiting casinos, playing bingo, and enjoying her family. In addition to her parents, Ross William Miller, Sr., and Johnnie Mae Miller Brand, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sepia Freeman; stepfather, Willie Brand; three brothers, Ross William Miller (Myra), John Miller, and Charles Miller. Left to cherish her memories are: three sisters, Johnnie Mae McAllister, Barbara Battles (Otis, Sr.), and Shirley Lindsay (James); three grandchildren, Devine, Eugene, and Bijah; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
