Unzzie Boyd

On Sunday, January 26, 2014, Unzzie Lee Boyd, age 91 went to her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while at Moses Cone Hospital. Unzzie Lee was welcomed into this world by her parents, John and Carrie Archie on November 18, 1922. Unzzie Lee grew up learning the value of family and good work. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and being a homemaker. She was a member of First Emmanuel Baptist church for many years and served as a Missionary. She was married to the later John Henry Boyd. In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, three sisters, two sisters-in-law and two great grandsons. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Elaine Mitchell of High Point and Juanita (Carl) McCormick of High Point; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; one special sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Boyd; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many "play children and play grandchildren," although not named you where very special to her.
