Tommy Kimber was born on June 9, 1963, in Guilford County, NC. A resident of Guilford County all his life, he was born to the late Mollie Elizabeth Dobson Kimber McClure, and father, Willie Mack McClure, and raised by John Kimber. He was called home to rest on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Tommy was educated in the Guilford County school system. He worked with Marsh Furniture Company in High Point, NC, for 15 years. He also was a caregiver for Shipman Home Care. He was a member of Living Water Baptist Church since 2015. Tommy was affectionately known as “PawPaw.” Tommy was a loving person. He enjoyed laughing, celebrating with family, and was loved by all who knew him. Tommy had a niche for lawn care and enjoyed cutting yards on the weekend. Tommy was united in marriage to Lynda Hairston Kimber on June 9, 2001. From this union, there were four united children, Faye, Carl Jr., Tony, and Jerome. In addition to his parents, Tommy was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ben Kimber, Eugene Kimber, and Reginald “Dogg” McClure; sisters, LaWanda Kimber and Dorothy Kimber; four nephews; son, Tony Martin; and brothers-in-law, Larry and Charlie McAdoo. Tommy leaves to cherish his loving memories to his loving wife, Lynda Kimber; united children, Faye Hairston-Neal (Jerry), Jerome Martin (Sagirah), and Carlton Martin, Jr. (Carol); four brothers, Jimmy Kimber, Ronald Kimber (June), Ray Kimber (Lorie), and Steve McClure; four sisters, Gale Kimber, Cassandra Kimber, Linda Dillard (Robert), and Kathy McClure (Bud Lewis); nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, cousins; daughter-in-law, Latonya Martin; and a host of other family and friends
