Tiyunna Thompson

Tiyunna Thompson, our beloved angel passed away peacefully Sunday, February 24, 2019 at High Point Medical Center Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.  She was born May 11, 1983 in Newark, NJ to Alonzo Thompson and Lavillia Anderson.

Tiyunna was educated through Guilford County Schools playing in the band for T. Wingate “Red Raiders” but later getting her high school diploma from High Point Central.  She had a passion for three things in life. First, her love for hair, primarily hair with color in it.  She later completed her studies at Carolina Beauty College.  Secondly, was the R&B group DruHill, you were not allowed to talk about Sisqo or she would be all over you.  Lastly and most important was her love for God was shown in her everyday life.    She was a member of Living Water Baptist Church where she sang on the choir and praise team.

Tiyunna was preceded in death by her father, Alonzo Thompson; her paternal grandparents, Fred and Inez Thompson; maternal grandfather, Robert “Handy Andy” Anderson; four aunts and two uncles.

She leaves to cherish her memories and smiles to her mother of the home, Lavillia “Sissy” Anderson; five brothers, Sean Anderson and Tyrone Anderson of Charlotte, NC, William Anderson of Lexington, NC, Alonzo Thompson Jr. and Cho-Son Anderson of Newark, NJ; two sisters, Graceinea Anderson and India Anderson both of High Point, NC; maternal grandmother, Lucille Anderson of High Point, NC; three family members she was reared with; Terrah Anderson, Michael Anderson both of High Point, NC and Vanna (Chris) Herbin of Manhattan, KS; two special honorary nephews she helped to raise, Ju’Nathan Anderson and Sir-Lord “Jahmare” Pryce Jr.; friends that stood by her side, Tammy Smith, Cheryl Simmons, Keisha Risper and Sheila Hoskins; a host a cousins and other friends, although  not named you were dear to her heart.
