Thomas Charles Allsbrook, 82, of 2209 E. Lexington Avenue, departed this life on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Hospice Home at High Point. Tome, as he was known to family and friends was born in Marlboro County, SC, on October 18, 1928, son of the late Alexander Allsbrook and Beatrice Quick. Tom was reared by his stepmother, Elnora Allsbrook, after the death of his mother. He relocated to High Point, NC in 1999 and was employed as a construction worker for Cowell Construction Company. He was married to Hattie Mae Allsbrook, who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Jean Allsbrook, two sons, Thomas and Henry Allsbrook, his stepmother, Elnora Allsbrook, stepdaughter, Delores McCall, six brothers and one sister.

Tom loved his family. He enjoyed working around the house, cutting grass and driving his vans. He wanted to be busy all the time. He loved eating food that was prepared by his sister, Rose Lee and he enjoyed the liver and rice prepared by his daughter, Lilla. Tom could not start the day without his coffee, he will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving to cherish memories are a son, David Allsbrook, three daughters, Gloria Allsbrook and Lilla Allsbrook, all of Washington, DC and Alexandria (Denver) Cannely of Capitol Heights, MD, 28 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, his sister, Rose Bryant, a brother, James Willie (Odessa) Allsbrook both of High Point, NC, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
