Simon Brown, age 75 of High Point, NC departed this earthly life of Saturday, March 30, 2024, at WFBMC- Atrium Health–High Point.
Simon was born to the late Irene Elizabeth Harmon Brown and James Otis Brown on February 14, 1949, in Gibson, NC.
Simon attended Pate Garden School in Gibson, NC. He later relocated to High Point, NC. Simon was employed with Metal Creation Company for over 20 years, he was also formerly employed with Metal Fabrication.
Throughout, Simon had a wonderful life, he began early as a Boy Scout and became a Boy Scout Explorer, he invented a tool to assist a manufacturing company with machine operations; he was awarded being a hero after saving a person from drowning, and he was a member of the Masconic Lodge. Simon loved ol’skool cars, he took pride and joy in his 73 Ford Grand Torina and 69 XL Ford car and he was a motorcycle rider. He was a former member Brown Chapel Holiness Church and served as a Deacon and later joined New Beginning Teaching Ministry.
As a family person, Simon was a protector and a people’s person. He was full of wisdom. He was joined and married to the love of his life Rodenia Cannon Brown for over 30 years.
Simon was preceded in death by his parents: two sisters, Carine York and Annie Mae Brown; and brothers-in-law, James “Mickey” Brown and Alonzo Malloy; sister-in-law, Lillie Brown.
Simon gave his life to the Lord and he will be greatly missed by his wife, Rodenia Brown of the home; bonus daughter, Earther Robinson and five grandchildren; his siblings, Earl Brown Sr., Elder. James (Linda) Brown David Brown, and Mildred Brown all of High Point, NC, Francis (Hurbert) McLean of Gibson, NC and Dr. JoAnn Brown Malloy of Hackensack, NJ and Marie (Derrick Settlers) Brown of Bowie, MD; special nephew, Bobby Cannon; two sisters-in-law, Mary Cannon of Leesville, SC and Irene (Blain) Tyler, Wagner, SC; special friend, John Willie Purvis, John C. Lyles, James Barnes, Big John and “Tow Boy,” “Jam,” Ralph Williams and John Walter; a host of special and dear nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
