Shirley Howard

Shirley L. Flack Howard, 67, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC.

She was born to Ernest and Daisy Howard Kearns on May 9, 1943, in High Point, NC. Shirley was a friendly person with a great sense of humor. With her outgoing personality she never met a stranger. Shirley enjoyed traveling across the United States. She was blessed with a talent to write music; she was the original songwriter of "Old Danny Boy." Shirley was also fortunate to have genuine friends throughout her life.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, three sons, Sam Flack of Maryland, Raymond Townes and Mack Davis of Lexington, NC, four daughters, Sherrie Flack of Atlanta, Renita Howard of High Point, Anna Townes and Mary Napper of West Virginia, three brothers, Hobart Howard, Percy Kearns and Ricky Kearns, two sisters, Sadie Kearns and Capatora Kearns, eighteen grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
