Shirley Harrington

Ms. Shirley Mae Smith Harrington, age 79, of High Point, NC, departed this earthly life unexpectedly on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Hospice of the Piedmont, weeks after the passing of her daughter, Renee. Shirley was born in Bennettsville, SC, on October 27, 1942, to the late Minnie Greene Smith and Morris Smith. She was educated in the Marlboro County public schools. She later relocated to High Point, NC. Shirley was a dedicated member of Faith International Fellowship Ministry, where she served as the mother of the church. She loved her family and enjoyed watching the neighborhood children and treated them like family. One of her favorite chapters in the Bible was Psalm 23. Her hobbies were cooking and cleaning; she was very OCD!! She was preceded in death by: her husband, Theodore Howard Harrington; and four children, Steven Smith, Larry Donnell Harrington, Cynthia Diane Harrington and Teresa Renee Harrington. Shirley leaves to cherish her loving memories: her only daughter, Barbara (Robert) Turner; four grandchildren, Kelvin Jones, Swetasia Harrington, Shirley Harrington, and Chrishenda Jones; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Lorenzo Smith; two sisters, Minnie Crenshaw and Myrtle Bridges; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and community friends.
