Shelton Horne Sr.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the gates of heaven opened and received a faithful and dedicated servant Mr. Shelton Horne Sr. at the blessed age of 100 years old.

Mr. Shelton was born in Wadesboro, NC on November 10, 1925, to the late Mr. Cleveland and Mrs. Charlotte Horne.

He was married to the late Mrs. Cora Wright Horne for 68 years. To their union for children were born.

He was member of First Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Shelton was also preceded in death by one son, Freddie Horne.

He is survived by three children, Shelton Horne Jr., Linda Kay Diggs and Phyllis (Johnny) Chandler all of High Point, NC; two grandchildren of whom they raised as their own, Stevie Ray Horne and Wayne Horne; one sister, Isadora (Thomas) Whitley and one brother, Lamont Horne and his wife of Florence, SC; there are many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren; a dedicated niece, Delores Miller of Greensboro, NC; other relatives and friends; also thank God for Angela McFadden for being there in the time of need.
