Sarah "Yvonne" Peat

Sarah Yvonne Peat was born on December 16, 1952, in Rockingham, North Carolina to Clara L. Nicholson and the late Jame E. Nicholson. She peacefully transitioned December 2, 2025, at Hospice Home at High Point, NC. Yvonne was graduate of Guilford County Schools (in 1972..

Throughout her life she was employed at Mister Apparel, Jeanette Maternity and Lydon Bricher Manufacturing Company. From an early age, she learned to sew and mastered the skill with great pride. After retiring, she spent much of her time with her dear friend Mary “Cookie” Chavis, sewing, watching their favorite HGTV shows, enjoying late night snacks and completing word-search puzzles. Yvonne was a faithful member and devoted member at Williams Memorial CME Church.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Dennis Nicholson, Billy Harri, Tyrand R. Nicholson Sr. and Billy R. Nicholson.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her, mother, Clara L. Nicholson of High Point NC; two devoted daughters, Kisha Peat (Terrance Lovett) of Hopewell, VA and Erica Peat (Corey Harris) of High Point, NC; Shawn Pratt (Angela) of Houston, who was also dearly loved by his stepmother was an important part of the family; two sisters, Maria Nicholson and Edna (Greg) Rogers of Maryland; mother in-law Lois Nicholson of Washington DC.; aunts, Elena Wall of Rockingham, NC, Cassie (Lacie) Rush of Jamestown, NC and Elsie Covington of Durham, NC; five grandchildren - Roger, Eric, Jordan, E’lexis and Jalen; nine great-grandchildren - Jamari, Eric Jr., Riley, Emaylah, Isaiah, Carter, Mazanii, Ari, Mazir; sister-in-law, Surade Nicholson of Thomasville, NC), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
