Sarah Johnson

November 17, 1941 — May 3, 2017

Sarah Ann Johnson, age 75, of High Point, NC passed away peacefully in her home on May 3, 2017. She was the daughter of James W. Mack Sr. and Grace McMullins.

Sarah was a caring and loving person in her community.  She was known for cooking up delicious meals, feeding her neighbors and encouraging them to return for more.  Every holiday she would prepare a holiday theme inspired meal.  She loved to dance and listen to her favorite artist Frankie Beverly & Maze.  If you approach her place and heard her music playing you knew she was cooking and dancing.  Better yet she was shaking it fast and you better watch yourself.

Shopping and finding unique items that others didn’t have was her niche.  If it was up to Sarah she would eat fish seven days a week.

Sarah had a special bond with each of her children and grandchildren in her own special way.  She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in passing by her husband; Larry Monroe Johnson; one brother, Matthew Mack; one sister, Thomasina York.

She is survived by her children: Ronald Johnson, Diethea Williams, Janice Allen, Larry McMullen, Lethea Ingram, Lavera (Kenneth) Reid, Fredrick (Sonya) Johnson, and Benny (Shaniece) Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Ray of Carbondale IL; one brother, James Mack Jr of Wilkes-Barre, PA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
