Robert Lisenby Jr.

Robert Lisenby, Jr., lovingly known as June, was born September 14, 1959, in High Point, North Carolina, to parents, the late Ms. Mattie Lee Chapman and the late Robert Lisenby, Sr. He departed this life on the evening of September 23, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. He attended public schools in High Point, North Carolina, and Washington, DC. He graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, DC. Robert was employed with Cascade, Inc., until he retired. He was previously employed with Syntec and Montlieu Elementary School where he was a custodian. Robert was a die-hard DALLAS COWBOYS fan. Boy, did he love his Cowboys. He was an avid wrestler during his youth. He took pride in having his car nice and clean as well as his yard nicely and neatly trimmed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara Chapman, Peggy Chapman, and Nellie Cobb (F.G.), and three brothers, Jesse Chapman, Melvin Lisenby, and James Edward Lisenby. His memory will be cherished by his three daughters, Latoya Lisenby of Washington, DC, Marquita Lisenby, and Taquia Lisenby of Eden, NC; five brothers, Pastor Larry Lisenby (Patricia) of Jamestown, NC, Sam Chapman (Betty) of McLeansville, NC, Larry Lisenby of Winston Salem, NC, and David Long and Bill Long (Nona), both of Washington, DC; five sisters, Alice Marshall (Reverend Thomas) and Iris Cullins, both of High Point, NC, Melanie Brunson of Miami, FL, Sharon Coats (David) of Camp Spring, MD, and Lisa (Marvin) Ramey of Washington, DC; three grandchildren, Andrenique Hokett, Delbert Lisenby, and Curtia Lisenby, all of Washington, DC; great-grandchild, Kays’son; aunt, Margaret Stroud; uncle, Harry Lisenby (Shirley) of MD; fiancée, Willie Gibson of High Point, NC; special mom, Margaret (Jessie) Sawells, Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
