Richard Mccormick

April 5, 1947 — March 4, 2013

Mr. Richard McCormick, age 65 of High Point, NC departed this earthly life on Monday, March 4, 2013.  He was born in Chesterfield County, SC on April 5, 1947 to the late Berry and Hester Johnson McCormick.
Richard accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was a member of St. James Baptist Church.  He graduated from Long Jr. High School in Chesterfield, SC and joined the US Army and served in the Vietnam War.  After serving his country he relocated to High Point, NC and was united in holy matrimony to Mary Johnson McCormick.
Richard enjoyed his job as an auto mechanic.  He also loved going to the race track.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one son, Michael McCormick; two sisters, Pearlie May Avery and Effie Williams; two brothers, Willie McCormick and Eli McCormick;
Those left to cherish his memories includes, one son, Richard McCormick Jr. of Hoffman NC; a special niece, Bernice Ledbetter of Cheraw SC; four sisters, Yevonne Burns, Dorothy Wilson, Shirley Antrum, Carolyn (Londale) Scotts all of Cheraw SC; four brothers, Leroy McCormick, Theodore (Louise) Hillards both of Cheraw SC, June McCormick of Long Island NY and June McCormick of Kannapolis, NC; two grandchildren, Jasmine Nicole McCormick and Jamaica Morrison both of High Point, NC;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends
