Richard's life began on December 11, 1956 in Bennettsville, SC, he departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was born to Grace Martin and Walter Crouch. As a child he moved to High Point, NC, where he attended Fairview Elementary School and High Point Central High School, Richard participated in Track and Field. He was an avid fan for NC Tar Heels, and NFL team, Washington Football Team formally known as Washington Redskins.
Richard accepted Christ at an early age and loved traveling and playing drums for his uncle's Bootman Band. He served in the Army National Guard in the year of 1975-1976. On October 14, 2000 he was joined in holy matrimony to the former Katie Dupree.
Richard was an employee with High Point Housing Authority from 1978-1986, he later gained employement with Dwane Swaim Paint & Wall Paper 1987-2018 from which he later retired.
He was preceded in death by his father; his son, Tony Ledbetter; sister; Mary Grace Crouch; brother, Kenny Harris and grandmother; Martha Johnson.
Left to cherish his memories are four children; Latoya Grace of High Point, NC; Chaka Dupree of the home; Tasheera Dupree of Atlanta, GA and Lashone Dupree of Greensboro, NC; sisters; Brenda Crouch, Debra Harris, Linda Harris, Doris and Joyce Crouch, all of High Point, NC; his brothers; Johnny Crouch and Chris Harris both of High Point, NC; aunts; Lorraine Whitfield, Ella Mae (Willie) Carter, Helen Johnson all of High Point, NC; Doris Yates of Rockingham, NC. Frances Thomas of Long Island, NY; uncles; Curtis Johnson, James Earl Johnson and Jessie Johnson, all of High Point, NC; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
