Reverend Ralph Goode, Jr. transitioned from this life on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Hospice Home of the Piedmont in High Point, NC. He was born on June 24, 1952, in High Point, NC, to the late Georgia Alberta Hill and June Hill. He was lovingly raised by Catherine Blair Goode (William) and her son, Ralph Goode, Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Bennett Goode, his siblings, Saunders J.C. Hill, Brenda Hill, Nancy Hill and David Hill and a host of aunts and uncles.
Reverend Goode was educated in High Point City Schools. In the 1970's, he was employed by the City of High Point. Answering his divine call to ministry, he was ordained under the leadership of Pastor Emmanuel Rucker and in August 1983, through the Rowan Baptist Association under the pastorate of Pastor Emeritus John Mason. From 1985 to 1989, he faithfully served as Pastor of New Life Baptist Church.
A lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Reverend Goode served devotedly as an Associate Minister and directed the Male Chorus Male Chorus for many years. He was also a dedicated employee of McLaurin Parking for over 20 years, where he supported operations during the High Point Furniture Market.
Reverend Goode had a deep love for the arts and fellowship. He enjoyed drawing, gardening, and singing traditional, foot-stomping spirituals. He homed his musical gift as a member of The Mighty Tears of Joy, where he found great joy in lifting praises to God. Above all, he cherished his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his sister-in-love, Camilla Gooding of High Point, NC; his daughter, Vonnessa Goode-Knight (Larelle) of Boston, MA; his cherished grandchildren, Kobe and Naomi Knight of Boston, MA; his siter, Linda Clark of High Point; his aunt, Margaret Goode Dillard (Claude) of Trenton, NJ; his devoted niece and caretaker, Pamela Pratt (Johnny) of High Point, NC; his cousin-brother, Hersey Latimore of Knoxville, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends,
