Mr. Napoleon “Nap” Gyant, age 76 of Maxton, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Hospice House of Randolph County, Asheboro, NC. He was born January 26, 1943 in Durham, NC to the late Linwood Gyant and Blanche Portee Gyant Wiley.
He attended William Penn High School and served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a concrete finisher in High Point, NC and later resided in Maxton, NC.
In addition to his parents, Napoleon was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Adams Gyant; one sister, Delores Gyant Titus; two brothers, Boykin Wiley and Charles R. Gyant.
He is survived by four children: Tonita Gyant Foxx, Napoleon Gyant Jr. and their mother, Iola Gyant Fant all of High Point, NC, Ladretrick Gyant of Maxton, NC and his mother, the late Dorothy Allen Gyant and Timothy Martin of Rocky Mount, NC; step-children, Lisa Adams (Brian) Brockington, of High Point, NC, Martin (Gardenia) Adams of Greensboro, NC; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Wiley (Rick) Johal, Diane Wiley Bright, Juanita Wiley (Calvin) York and Janice Wiley Walker all of High Point, NC; five brothers, Linwood (Patricia) Gyant, Herbert (Carol) Wiley, Michael (Judy) Wiley all of High Point, NC, Rev. Wilton (Pauline) Gyant of Newark, NJ and Leroy (Cathleen) Gyant of Randleman, NC; a special niece and caretaker, Teresa Bethea of Maxton, NC; in-laws, Gracie Hall Gyant of Fayetteville, NC, Luecial Adams, Carlton (Mary) Adams, Robert Adams and Frankie (Jennie Pearl) Hall all of Maxton, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
