Burnice Fredricka T. Dye affectionately known as “Ms. Freddie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on December 29, 1939, to Katie Barrett Thomas and John Albert Thomas in High Point, NC.
Burnice married the love of her life James Dye on October 31, 1958, and they shared many loving years together before his passing.
Burnice worked for K&W Restaurant and Radisson Hotel for years. She also did volunteer work at the Salvation Army, West End Ministries and the Leslie House for women. She enjoyed watching her favorite television show, Two and A Half Men. Her grandchildren were close to her heart and every Friday she would spend time with them. She enjoyed traveling to the beach with her son Mike.
Burnice lived a life full of love, service and devotion to her family and the community. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in High Point. She always praised and celebrated God.
Burnice was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kaye “Dicey” Monk; one son, Greg “Two Sweet” Dye; granddaughter, Katrice Ingram; three brothers, Charles Thomas, Samuel Thomas and Ronnie Thomas.
She leaves loving memories to four children, Steve (Darlene) Dye; Mike (Ericka) Dye, Adam Dye and Teresa Dye (Grady Baldwin); a treasured legacy of 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; other relatives and church family.
