Mrs. Linda Mason-Lloyd

April 12, 1948 — February 4, 2023

Linda entered eternal rest on February 4th, 2023, at the age of 74 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in High Point, NC. Linda was born in Oakridge, Guilford County, NC on April 12th, 1948.  Linda was the daughter of the late Charles Wadelington & Dilsie Russom Wadelington.

Linda’s family moved from Greensboro, NC to Hempstead Long Island, NY in the early 60’s.

She was a graduate of Hempstead High School and attended Nassau Community College. She was employed as a keyboard Specialist.

Linda met and married the late Ronald Mason “Hatchet” to this union bore a son Sean and daughter, Tiffany.

Upon returning to North Carolina Linda met and married the late William Archie Lloyd and became stepmom/second mom to Tyrone, Marvin, Tina, Benita, Cathy, Jackie, Deborah and Dwight.

Linda was a faithful member of the St. James AME Church of Oakridge, NC where she served as Steward Pro-Tem. She was a member of the Senior Choir, the Miller-Taylor YMS, the Trustee Board, the Finance Committee and former President of the Young Peoples Department (YPD), and Sunday School Member.

Linda’s loving heart and home was extended to all her family and friends. She was so caring and dependable. Celebrations and holidays were always the best at Mama Linda’s.

Her culinary skills were exceptional. Her banana pudding and sweet potato pie was heavenly.  Linda enjoyed cooking, music and entertaining. She was a true friend indeed. Our Matriarch!

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Dilsie Wadelington; husbands, Ronald Mason and William Archie Lloyd; one sister, Gail; one brother, Charles “CW”; and her beloved son, Sean (Quanicka); and two grandsons, Eric and Elijah.

Linda leaves to cherish loving memories to her daughter, Tiffany (Paul) Middleton; sister, Cherrie Burgess; brothers, Frank (Pam) Wadelington, Ed (Sylvia) Wadelington, Gerald "Bunny" Wadelington; six grandchildren, Jamel, Dashawn, Danielle, Gabrielle, Isabelle & Shianne; one great grandson, Jayden; aunt, Lennie Searcy; uncle, Richard (Irene) Watkins; great aunt, Bernice Hooker; sister in love, Sheila Mason Morrison; daughter in love, Fay Logan; eight nephews, seven nieces; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
