Mr. Jeffrey Waldo

Mr. Jeffrey Allen Waldo, age 61, of High Point, NC, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. He was born on November 7, 1961, the youngest son of ten to his parents, Mr. Ellis Haywood Waldo, Sr., and Mrs. Minnie Corrina Collins. Affectionately called “Stevie” by family and friends, Jeffrey graduated high school from William Cullen Bryant in Queens, New York. He was self-employed in the construction industry for over 30 years as a journeyman carpenter. He was truly a jack of all trades which included but was not limited to plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. As his wife Tonya would proudly say, “He could build you a house from the ground up!” Jeff was a hardworking man whose work ethic was unmatched. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jeffery is now reunited with his parents; sisters, Susan Bennett, Yvonne Brown, Linda Manning, and Robin Waldo; stepson, Fred D. Hawkins III; and granddaughter, Seralyn Waldo. The family he leaves behind with sadness are his loving wife, of 13 years, Tonya Gary Waldo of the home; son, Xazavier Waldo, Sr., of Burlington, NC; daughter, Chanette Lewis of Brooklyn, NY; two stepsons, Malcolm Springs of High Point, NC, and Jashawn Gary of Winston-Salem, NC; four sisters, Diana Waldo of Staten Island, New York, Carolyn West of Greensboro, NC, Ellis Gail (Mark) Smith of Queens, New York, and Donna (Gilbert) Trammell of McDonough, GA; one brother, Ellis Waldo, Jr., of Queens, New York; twelve grandchildren; great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Lori B. Campbell of Dallas, TX; brother-in-law, Thomas E. Gary, Jr., of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. And special acknowledgement goes to the two children whom he loved dearly and helped to raise: his step granddaughter, Kaylin, “KayKay” Hawkins, and great-nephew, Messiah Waldo.
