Minekia Edwards

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Minekia Yvette Edwards, who departed this life on September 27 at the age of 35.

Minekia was a beautiful, loving, and one-of-a-kind woman whose warm spirit touched everyone she met. Known for her kindness, sweet nature, and radiant smile, she brought joy wherever she went. Full of life and laughter, Minekia loved spending time with her family and creating lasting memories with those she loved most. Above all else, Minekia was a devoted mother who adored her children. She was always there for them, offering unconditional love, guidance, and support. She especially enjoyed teaching her son how to cook and loved singing and dancing with her daughter and nieces. Minekia had a special gift with children and truly loved being around them.

Those who knew Minekia knew she would do anything she could to help others. Her generous heart, compassionate spirit, and genuine love for people made her deeply cherished by family and friends alike. She also had a passion for fashion and was always known for looking her best. Her brother Fred affectionately nicknamed her “Hollywood,” a title that perfectly captured her stylish personality.

Minekia was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Teneka Edwards.

Minekia leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Angela Edwards (Joshua Faucette) and Fredrick (Michelle) French; her beloved children, Jordan Dawkins, Royalty Thomas, and Danerrious McBee, Jr.; her brothers, Fredrick Edwards and LaQuentin Edwards;

She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members; and close friends.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the many beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her love, laughter, kindness, and bright smile will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
