Mary O'Neil

October 14, 1951 — June 17, 2019

Mary Ella (Williams) O'Neil was born on October 14th, 1951 in High Point, NC to Lumpkin Williams, Sr., and Lucy Gertrude Hobson Williams.

She departed this life on Monday, June 17th, 2019. Mary graduated from High Point Central High School, class of 1973. She met and married Lindsay O'Neil on December 1st, 1973, together they raised her son, Roger A Wilson, Jr. from her previous marriage. She was a stay at home housewife and mother. She was a babysitter for many of her nieces and nephews along with several children from her many friends.

Mary was a faithful and devout born again believer who stood strong in her faith even when doing so was unpopular amongst many of her family and friends. She loved the Lord and she didn't care who knew no who she told. Her greatest joy was singing and she had a beautiful voice and sang like an angel. She taught herself to play the autoharp by ear and sang praise and worship songs around the house and in church. She taught herself to sew and made many of her own dresses and outfits. She was also a fantastic cook and made the best meals for her family and friends. In short she truly turned her house into a home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Brenda Faye Williams.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lindsay O'Neil of the home, Her only son, Roger A Wilson, Jr. of Maryville, IL, two granddaughters, Mia Chantelle Wilson and Aaysha Rachelle Wilson both of Luton, England, Brothers; Edwin Council (Shirley) of High Point, NC and Ronnie Council (Eunice) of Dallas, TX; Lumpkin Williams, Jr of Los Angeles, CA, Tommie Williams of High Point, NC; Darnell Williams of Greenville, SC;  Leroy Williams (Lynda) of Dallas, TX; her baby brother; Darrell Williams of High Point, NC; Sisters: Diana Lyons of Greensboro, NC and Geraldine Williams of High Point, NC, along with a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends
