Mary Edna Bosier Matthews was born on July 23, 1953, in Pinewood, South Carolina, to the late Isaac Bosier, Sr. and Mary Dow Bosier. She graduated from Scott Branch High School, demonstrating determination early in life by working as a school bus driver while still a student.
After graduation, Mary moved to Thomasville, North Carolina, where she built a career in the furniture industry, working with Burlington Mills, Thomasville Furniture, and Mark Davis. Their loving and devoted union spanned over 36 years. Mary enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, softball, and bowling, where she earned recognition as a champion and record-holder.
