Once upon a time, on October 26, 2019, a tiny miracle entered the world far earlier than anyone expected. Macen J. Thomas was born at just 27 weeks, weighing only 2 pounds, 2 ounces. Though he was incredibly small, his spirit was already mighty. Among the tiniest babies fighting for life in the NICU, Macen amazed everyone by breathing on his own. From the very beginning, he showed the world exactly who he was— a brave little warrior with a heart far bigger than his size.

For two months, Macen grew stronger every single day. Then, on Christmas Eve of 2019, his greatest gift arrived when he finally came home to the loving arms of his family It was the perfect beginning to a beautiful story.

As the pages of his life unfolded, Macen blossomed into an extraordinary little boy with an unforgettable smile. Whenever he walked into a room, his bright grin and joyful energy could light up every corner. He had a way of making people laugh, smile, and feel loved simply by being himself.

Macen began his educational journey at Appleville Academy, where he attended daycare and later proudly graduated from Pre-K. He then attended Madison Community School in Cleveland, Ohio, where he successfully completed kindergarten. Even at such a young age, Macen was an outstanding student. He loved learning, earning good grades, and especially enjoyed art and music. His teachers and classmates were blessed by his curiosity, enthusiasm, and kind heart. He was eagerly looking forward to beginning first grade, excited to discover new adventures, and make more memories, and continue learning.

Like many little boys, Macen loved his favorite characters. Super Mario and Paw Patrol filled his imagination with excitement and adventure. But if there was one thing that truly made his heart sing, it was music.

Macen absolutely loved to sing. He would happily perform songs by Michael Jackson, and one of his all-time Favorite songs was "No Scrubs" by TLC. Hearing such a classic favorite come from such a tiny voice always brought smiles and laughter to everyone around him. Music was his joy. Singing was his superpower.

Although he was only six years old, everyone who knew Macen would tell you he had an old soul. His wisdom, compassion, and caring heart often seemed far beyond his years.

Nothing meant more to Macen than his brothers. He adored all of them, but his bond with Elijah was truly special. Elijah wasn’t just his brocber— he was Macen's very best friend. If anyone teased Elijah or gave him a hard time. Macen never hesitated to step in. "Leave my brother alone," he would proudly declare. "He's gonna beat you up!" It didn’t matter how small he was. In Macen’s eyes, protecting the people he loved was simply what family did.

His admiration for his big brother Zamir was just as precious. Macen loved sitting beside him, asking what felt like a thousand questions about anything and everything. His curiosity had no limits. Eventually Zamir would laugh and lovingly say. "Okay, Macen.

Macen's story was filled with courage, laughter, music, imagination, and endless love. Though his time on Earth lasted only six short years, every page of his story was beautifully written. His life reminds us that greatness is not measured by the number of years we live but by the amount of love we leave behind.

As Macen’s beautiful story continues in Heaven, he was lovingly welcomed by those who had gone before him. Waiting to embrace him with endless love were his beloved grandmother, Angela Denise Grace; his great grandparents, Mary (Barbara) Grace, Sam B. Eaddy, Doris Farley, Patricia Thomas, and Benjamin Thomas, Sr.; his aunt. Brianna. Craig: his great-uncle. James "Mookey" Grace; and his great-aunts, Brenda L. Grace, Rhonda (Gail) Grace, Vickie McMillan, and Pamela Johnson, all of High Point, NC.

Macen's love will forever live in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him. He leaves to cherish, his precious memories his devoted mother, Aarona Craig, of the home; his loving father, Benjamin Thomas, of High Point, NC; brothers Zamir Criag-Jefferies and Elijah Thomas of the home and Jy'riane Thomas of High Point, NC; one sister, Iyanah Green NC; his grandparents; Aaron Craig, Erika Morrison, Sr., Carolyn (Darren) Farley McCauley, all of High Point, NC, and Benjamin Thomas, Jr., of Charlotte, NC.

He also leaves five loving aunts: Michelle Braswell, Harmonie Braswell, Benasia (Mario) Patterson, all of High Point, NC; Myah Craig, of Raleigh, NC; and Sydney (Sean) Board, of Charlotte, NC.

Macen's memory will also be treasured by his eight uncles: Clinton Haywood, Jr., Michael Braswell, Willie Braswell III, Kayson Craig, Kaiden Craig, Karter Craig, Michael (Quentina) Farley, and Jamual (Chermise) Thomas, all of High Point, NC and one loving God-Mother Jasmine Logan of High Point, NC.
