Leola Jones

On Saturday, March 10, 2018, Leola Marcella Jones-Waden, 70, was called to her eternal home.

She was born June 24, 1947 in High Point, NC; the third out of ten children, Leola born to Viola Feimster and Arthur Waden, Sr.  She attended Guilford County Schools.

Leola was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law and friend.  She had  a generous heart and helped others when in need.  She was a cook for K&W Restaurant for over 20 years and enjoyed cooking.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Leola was a faithful member of Spirit of Life Family Worship Center, where she served as the mother of the church.

She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters; Janice Tanksley and Darlene Tomlin; one granddaughter, Lateshia Rogers and a special friend, Larry Nesbitt.

Those left to cherish memories includes five children, Lisa Abney, Gerald (Mary) Abney, Pastor Dwayne (Tammy) Waden, Sr., Alonzo Abney all of High Point, NC and Arthur Waden of Washington, DC; sisters, Dorothy (Bob) King of Capitol Heights, MD, Juanita (Herman) Rowe of Randalls-Town, MD, Peggy (Kenny) David, Laverta Bennet all of High Point, NC, Ardis (James) Brown of Greensboro, NC and Yvonne (Al) Gaston of High Point, NC; one brother, James (Brenda) Waden of Fayetteville, NC;  eight grandchildren, Ardis Abney, India Abney, Dwayne (Ashley) Waden, Jr., Michelle Harrington, Quinton Harrington, Starla (Tederarius) Marsh, Keldric Stokes and Willie Gaddy; fourteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
