Lena Lee

Mrs. Lena Council Lee, 67years old, the daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Evelyn Askew Council slept away to eternal rest on Saturday December 20 ^th 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born August 5 ^th 1947 in Trinity NC where she grew up and learned her craft of playing softball. She later married John Edward Lee and they were blessed with four children.

Mrs. Lee was a devoted wife to her husband of 49 years, as well as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, always putting them and their needs ahead of her. She never complained about her situations and was always there to make sure everything was alright with you. She loved being with her friends and family which filled her with great joy as she touched all the lives that she came in contact with. She greeted you with her warm smile; joking ways and feisty attitude which just made you love her.

Mrs. Lee loved her flowers and plants, in which she inherited her mother’s green thumb. Lena was an outstanding cook; it was her love and passion she made a mean sweet potato pie as well as apple turnovers that will truly be missed.

She is preceded in death by both parents, and two brothers Robert Eugene Council Jr. and William Oliver Council and one sister Rebecca Knight.

She leaves behind her husband, John Lee; four children, Ronald Lee of Greensboro, Edward (Regina) Lee of High Point, Felicia Lee of Greensboro and John Thomas Lee of Greensboro, seven grandchildren, Jacqueline Faison, Conrad Mcknight Jr., Tevin Lee(Abby), Stephon “Country” Lee, Julianna Lee, Victoria Lee and Edward Z. Lee; seven great-grand’s, six sisters and two brothers, a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; one whom she adored Sandra Mauburary.
