Lela “Gracie” Stinson, age 68 transitioned from earth to glory on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Hospice Home at High Point. She was born October 19, 1949 in N. Myrtle Beach, SC.
Gracie as she was affectionately called was educated in Horry County Schools. She was employed with Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center as a CNA for many years.
She spent most of her life as a member of Popular AME Church in Longs, SC until moving to High Point and later became a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included sharing time with her family and friends, sewing and bingo.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Reather Vaught and Homer Bessant; two children, Kimela Hewett and Edwin Cox; a brother and sister, Alton and Brenda Bessant.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her devoted and loving husband, Willie Stinson of the home; her father, Bennie Vaught of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; one son, Nick (Tasha) Hewett of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; three daughters, MarRetha Davis of Sumter, SC, Tanya Zimmerman and Moneka (Antoine) Graham of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Tyriek, Jayden, Jordan Hewett and Darnell Williams; six brothers, four sisters; a host of relatives and friends.
