Larry Martin

May 7, 1954 — December 2, 2025

High Point

Larry “Don” Martin, 71, of High Point, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025. Born on May 7, 1954, in Sanford, North Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late Minnie Martin White and the late David Carter, and was lovingly reared by the late William L. White Sr.

Larry worked faithfully for many years as a warehouse worker, a role in which he built lifelong friendships and earned the respect of those around him. A man of many talents, he enjoyed fixing cars, traveling, and watching his favorite game shows. Larry had a gift for making things work again—he could rewire just about anything—and he carried that same determination and creativity into every area of his life.

Known as the life of the party, Larry loved to dance, laugh, and bring joy wherever he went. His contagious energy and warm spirit made him unforgettable to everyone blessed to know him.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Pashur (Damian) Brown of High Point, NC and his son, Ashkelon Baldwin. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Martin of McColl, SC, Roberta (Nathaniel) Bridges of Greensboro, NC, Carolyn Strickland, Estella White, and Evangelist Margaret Hope all of High Point, NC; his brothers, James White of Greensboro, NC, William L. White Jr. and Luther Brown both of High Point, NC, David Wayne Brown of GA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Among them, he held a special place in his heart for his niece Demetrius ”Bo” White. Larry was blessed with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Martin, stepmother, Annie Brown, and brothers Harold White and Wilbert Brown.

Larry lived his life with laughter, to the beat of his own drum and rhythm, often echoing his favorite quote: “All I wanna do is zooma zoom zoom zoom and a boom boom.” His spirit, love, and light will be forever cherished.
