Kimberly Coppadge

June 7, 1975 — November 19, 2006

Kimberly Michelle Eleby Coppadge was born June 7, 1975, in High Point, NC to Joseph Wesley Clyburn and Nancy Eleby Clinton, both of whom preceded her in death. Kim departed this life on Sunday, November 19, 2006.

Kim, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, enjoyed the beauty in life. Her loving spirit transformed from her family life into her professional life. As a child Kim loved playing in her aunt's hair, applying makeup and dressing up. She was very artistic which led to her decision to attend cosmetology school. The majority of her jobs that Kim held were in retail industry, which went well with her outgoing personality. She really enjoyed working with the public. Kim served as a receptionist at the Carolina Beauty College, and it appeared that she had finally found a position and an employer that she was quite content with.

Kim's uncles and aunts all shared the same sentiment regarding their niece; however, the one sentiment that everyone agreed upon was that they will feel empty without her. Kimberly brought out the best in folks, she never met a stranger. She had the ability to brighten things up the moment she walked into a room because her smile was so dynamic. When you didn't want to be bothered, she had a way of bringing you out of that state of mind and inspiring you with an encouraging word accompanied with plenty of laughter. Kim's uncle Lee stated that she was like her mother Nancy in that she was the glue that held the family together. She would visit and spend time with all of her family, and she was considered the peacekeeper.

Kim had the uncanny ability to obtain any job that she applied for. The family had a good laugh reminiscing about Kim having 11 W-2 forms in one year. Her cousin Latisha further amused us about the time Kim worked at Bojangles as the chicken mascot. That job lasted less than four hours. Kim had no intentions of roasting inside that hot chicken outfit, so she left the suit in the bathroom and went home without telling her new employer. We all agreed that Kim could have written a book on how to obtain and return a job.

Kimberly was married in holy matrimony to her childhood friend, Larry Christopher Coppadge on May 27, 2000. To that union two sons were born., Larry Jr., and Jamal Marquise.

Kimberly leaves to cherish her precious memory, her husband Larry Coppadge; two sons, Larry Jr., and Jamal; one stepson, Damarius Crawford; grandfather, Willie Clyburn of Detroit, MI.; Mother and Father-in-law, Jean and Wilson Moore; sisters, Lakisha Clinton, Joei Clyburn; brothers; Teon, Glenn and Ryan Clyburn; seven uncles; James (Nancy) Eleby, Gary (Fannie) Eleby, Lee (Diane) Eleby all of High Point, NC., Marc Clyburn of Pittsburgh, CA, Jeffery (Joanne) Clyburn, Kenny and William Clyburn all of Detroit, MI; nine aunts, Mae Eleby, Barbara (Jerome) Nwavueze, Vera (Ibeawuchi) MDavis and Mary McClain of CT; Pricilla and Callie Clyburn, Cathy and Alicia Calvin and Mattie Collier, all of Detroit, MI; nieces; Ebony and Chrisha Reid, Nancy Clinton, Naijah Clyburn; nephews, Elijah and Glenn Clyburn; best friend, Christy Finley and a host of other relatives and friends.
