Josephine Smith Cochrane, 77, departed this earthly home to enter into her heavenly home on Thursday, February 27, 2014.

Josephine was born to the union of James Tobe Smith and Lessie Smith on June 29, 1936 in Laurens County, South Carolina. She was a member of Building God's Kingdom Ministries, and was Mother of the church. In 1955, she was joined in matrimony with James Cochrane. Her hobbies included taking care of people, grocery shopping, gardening, and her gold fish.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Lloyd and Willie James Smith, her sisters; Alease and Annie Mae Christian, her eldest daughter Sherrie Cochrane and a Grandson Bruce (Sam) Cochrane.
She leaves to cherish her memories; one sister Mrs. Ruby Barber of College Park, GA. Her children James Edwin Cochrane Jr, Gregory Allen Cochrane (Beverly), Janet Leach (Dinky) Morrison of the home, Apostle Willa LaVerne Jerideau (Micheal) of Burlington, NC, and Henrietta Daphine Flowers of High Point, Kenneth Wayne Cochrane(Lynn) of Laurinburg, NC, and her daughter of love, Mamie Alexander of Greenville, SC. Her grandchildren, Patrice, Misty, Derrick, Tomeka, Marcus, Carlos, Maurice, Bobby, Mario, Alesha of the U.S. Navy stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, Joseph, Joshua, Alton (AJ), Kyra, Jamie, Tiffany of Greenville, South Carolina, Shaneka, Renee, Brandon, Maurice, and 47 Great-Grandchildren, along with 1 Great- Great Grand Daughter, with a host of family and friends.
Josephine was much more than a mother, and grandmother to us, she was also a confidant to many close family and friends such as, special cousins Fred Sheppard of the home & Mary Sheppard, James Charles Harris, and Lucy Gaston. A special thank you to Dr. Vicki Stovall, and the Triad Dialysis Team.
