Joseph Rhodes Dunn Jr.

Joseph Rhodes Dunn Jr, 65, passed away on July 11, 2016, at his residence. he was born in Edgecombe County, NC, on January 21,1951, to Joseph Sr. and Carrie Thompson Rhodes. Joseph attended Phillips High School and furthered his education to pursue auto mechanics. He was employed as an auto mechanic at his father's automotive shop. Joseph was married to Gloria Blackmon Rhodes, from that union four children were born.

Jospeh was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sarah Davis and Mable Davis.

Those left to cherish fond memories are his wife, Gloria Rhodes, children, Rodney (Chemicka) Rhodes, Michael Rhodes, Steven (America) Rhodes, Austin Rhodes, Joseph Crawford, Dominque Crawford, Jahze Crawford and Joseph Stine; six sisters, Odell Dilliard of Norfolk, VA, Mary Gibson of Fayetteville, NC, Nellie (William) Johnson of Montgomery, Al, Vanessa Rasberry of Tacoma, WA, Layveran Rhodes of Tarboro, NC and Polly Pickett of Montgomery, Al, two brothers, Warren (Francis)) Rhodes of Norfolk, VA and Willie Rhodes of Battleboro, NC, three aunts, Queen Davis, Nellie Batchelor and Shirley (Gary) Buckner; two grandchildren, whom he called his own, Ja'Mavri Crawford and Dy'Nasha Crouch; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends in addition, his Moorish brothers, who he recognized as the Korner Boys.
