John Zimmerman Sr.

Mr. John Wesley Zimmerman was born on October 2, 1938 to Dean Zimmerman Sr. and Kate McCollum Zimmerman in Cheraw, South Carolina. He relocated to High Point, NC in 1959. John Wesley was formerly employed at J.B. Hunt Trucking Company. To know John Wesley was to love him. He was the life of the party. John Wesley was “daddy,” not just to his children but his grandchildren as well. He was superman to all of them, someone that would move mountains and wade through high water in order to protect the ones he loved. He loved unconditionally all his family, having a special bond with each of them. He will truly be missed by all that loved him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Zimmerman; his grandchildren, Brian Cobb and Kisha Cobb; brothers, James, Dean Jr. and Haywood Zimmerman; sisters, Dorothy Allen, Christine Caldwell, Cora Miller and Katie Dockery. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Nancy Stuckey Zimmerman of High Point, NC; daughters, Cathy (Marvin) Alford of Bennettsville, SC, Deborah (Harold) Thomas of Columbia, SC, Diane (Timothy) Blockmon, and Irma Zimmerman all of High Point, NC; two sons, John W. Zimmerman Jr. of High Point, NC and Brian Keith Zimmerman of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren reared in the home, Wesley Antonio Zimmerman, James Zimmerman and Rodriguez Zimmerman; 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Christian of High Point, NC; one brother, Oliver Zimmerman of High Point, NC; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Zimmerman, Alean Dundy, Annie Ruth Zimmerman and Ruth (William)McRae; a host of other family members and dear friends.
