Jesse McAllister 84, departed this earthly life on October 9th,2017. He was born to the late John Henry McAllister and Carlitha Hines on November 24th, 1933. Jesse resided in High Point, NC in his later years where he was a member of The Greater Power and Praise Tabernacle Church. Lovingly know as Deacon McAllister and served faithfully until his health was declining. His favorite Scripture 23rd Psalm and his favorite song “May The Lord Be With You Until We Meet Again”. Before moving to High Point, NC Jesse was a member of Primitive Baptist Church of Hartsville (Elder Joseph Hines)
Jesse attended Georgetown School in Jacksonville, NC under Dr. McKinley. Jesse worked at Bell Fork Elementary School and retired after 30 years of service. Jesse worked briefly with Troy Humphrey Moving and Storage Company after retiring from the State.
Jesse was a hardworking man. Often you could find Jesse slopping his hogs or tending to the garden. Being a mechanic, he raced cars as a hobby. Jesse enjoyed watching racing and football on the Blue Tube (His words meaning T.V) However, his most prize pass time was the CB Radio. You could hear Jesse all over the neighborhood, in phone line and through the T.V. when he was “Keying Up”. He enjoyed his hobbies
Besides his parents Jesse was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Baker, brother Johnny McAllister and sister Virginia Humphrey.
Those left to cherish his Loving memories are his wife Johnnie Mae McAllister of the home, daughters, Ann Bender of Jacksonville, NC, Jan (Stan)Thompson of Jacksonville, NC, Tiffany Singleton of High Point, NC; his sons, Willie (Sharon) McAllister of Jacksonville, NC, Kenneth (Sarah) McAllister of Philadelphia PA and Harold (Patrice) Singleton of Greensboro, NC ,brother Leander (Novella) McAllister of Jacksonville, NC, Aunt McGertha Hines of Jacksonville, NC, Four Sister In-laws Barbara(Otis) Battles, Shirley(James) Lindsay and Versie Freeman all from High Point, NC, Barbara Burden of Plymouth, NC; Grandchildren Jemilla “Mindy” Bender of Augusta GA, Denise(Johnny) Rhodes of Raleigh, NC, Daphne (Antwan) Milner of Jacksonville, NC , Maia and Ana of Philadelphia, PA, Duan Rambert of Jacksonville, NC, Mytia Mathis of Wallace, NC. Three Godsons Elkeitrick McDaniel of Raleigh, NC, Marvin “CC” Foskey of Jacksonville, NC, Lorenzo Jones of Jacksonville, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephew’s, family and friends
