James "Spanky" Johnson

Mr. James “Spanky” Johnson was born to Marie Johnson on May 18, 1938 in Columbia SC. He submitted his spirit to the Lord on Sunday January 17, 2021, in High, NC at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

Spanky married his loving wife Flora Mae Johnson of Bennetsville, SC in 1972.  From this union they had a beautiful daughter, Kristy Johnson Pearson.  Spanky was a devoted husband, and father.  He was a good friend to many. He started his career at Mobile Chemical currently Valspar in High Point, NC where he retired after 37 years as a Short Order Paint Lead.

Spanky was a quiet man, humble in spirit with a huge heart.  During his life he enjoyed playing softball, swimming, bowling, and traveling to beaches and mountains.  He was a collector of guns, and cars.

Spanky leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Flora Mae Johnson of the home, daughter, Kristy Pearson (John Pearson Jr.) of Kannapolis, NC, daughter Landa Faust of High Point, NC; son, Vincent (Sharon) Faust of Schertz, TX; stepchildren, Johnnie (Bruce) Talley of High Point, NC, James (Quanya) O’Neil of Brandon MI, Justina (Nathaniel) Parker of Raleigh, Phyllis (Jeff) McInnis of Clarksburg, MD; brother, Clifford (Minnie) Johnson of High Point, NC and a cousin Greg Charles Sr. of High Point, NC;  20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
