God came and plucked a rose that was very dear to his mother, family and friends.

James "House" Steed, 33, of 306 W. Willis Avenue, passed away on June 14, 2006, in Columbia, SC. He was born February 9, 1973, in High Point, NC to James Pearson and Geraldine Steed. James was a graduate of High Point Central High School and was employed with High Point Enterprise in the circulation department. He also worked as a caretaker for a local group home. "House" as he was affectionally known by family and friends was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in High Point. He was a loving and caring person, willing to help anyone.

His father, one sister Jacqueline Pearson, maternal grandparents, Herbert, Sr., and Secir Steed, paternal grandparents, Willie and Nealie Pearson; one uncle, Roy Steed, all precedes him in death.

Relatives left to cherish his memories include his loving and devoted mother and best friend, Geraldine Steed of the home, one brother, Bobby Pearson of Thomasville, NC, special aunt, Alice Steed of High Point; four great aunts; Stella Williams of High Point, Mabelle Black of Bessemer City, NC, Alice Sellers of Laurel Hill, NC and Mary Whitfield of Bennettsville, SC, a godson; Drake Little of High Point, NC. special cousin; Robert Steed of Springfield, MA; two best friends; Jeffrey Ingram and Anthony Brown both of High Point, NC, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
