James Johnson

Mr. James Arthur Johnson passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Hospice Home at High Point.  He was born August 1, 1929, to Mr. Will Johnson and Alice Sexton Johnson.  James was born in Dillon, SC.

He was married to the late Artilla Quick Johnson.  James was a member of Williams Memorial CME Church.  He was a former member of the senior choir and male chorus.  James also sang with the former Happy Tones Quartet.   He enjoyed working in his yard and fixing lawn mowers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two children, Martha Lene Smith and Donnie James Johnson.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: six children, Evelyn Johnson-Waden of High Point, NC, Belva Williams of Oklahoma, Marinda Johnson of the home, Douglas Johnson of Greenville, NC, Darrell Johnson of High Point, NC and Derone Johnson of Greensboro, NC; one sister-in-law, Claretha Leggett of Latta, SC; one brother-in-law, Roger Quick Jr. of Bennettsville, SC; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
