James Grace

July 19, 1952 — June 23, 2007

James Junior Grace, commonly known as "Mookie," was born to the late James Grace and Mary Frances Sellers Grace on July 19, 1952, in Bennettsville, SC.

He was preceded in death by one son, Danny Bostic. He had eight siblings; three preceded him in death at early ages.

"Mookie" grew up in High Point, NC and attended the public schools of Guilford County where he acquired a quality education and good work ethics. James moved backed to Bennettsville, SC, where he resided several years working in various jobs as a painter, supervisor and upholsterer. Upon his move back to High Point, NC, James worked with Personnel Services until his health began to decline.

"Mookie" was known to many as an excellent cook and excelled in the field of bartending. He was always willing to give a helping hand to others, particularly those who were unable to do for themselves despite his declining health. Under the leadership of Pastor Alphonso Martin is where he found his spiritual comfort.

On Saturday, June 23, 2007, God eased his suffering and took his soul to be with Him for an everlasting life.

He leaves to cherish loving memories; his wife, Barbara Lowe Grace and step granddaughter, Brittany Lowe of the home, two sons; James Grace III and Cedric Grace; one daughter, Tonya Grace; stepfather, Sam B. Eaddy; one stepson, Roy A. Lowe of High Point, NC. one stepdaughter; Shiquita Lowe; one brother, Charles (Treva) Grace; four sisters; Brenda Grace & special friend (Levern Leach); Rhonda Grace and Angela Grace all of High Point, NC; Sandra (Pete) Dawkins of Wilson, NC; four aunts, Lillie (James) Smith of High Point, NC, Novella Sellers Thomas of Bennettsville, SC; two special aunts, Helen Grace and Elizabeth Lytch both of High Point, NC; three uncles, James Sellers of Raleigh, NC, two special uncles, Johnny Sellers of Maxton, NC, Joe Grace of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren and three step grandchildren; one step great grandchild, mother-in-law, Doris Lowe of Bennettsville, SC, many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends and a special friend, William Timberlake of High Point, NC
