James Edwards

Mr. James Eugene Edwards Jr, age 72 of High Point, NC departed this earthly life on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at his home.

James “Jed” as he was so lovely called was born in High Point, NC on August 28, 1951, to the late James Eugene Edwards Sr. and Pearl Margaret Hobson Edwards. 

James “Jed” attended High Point Public Schools.  James loved to play spades and with his favorite partner, his brother Terry.  He loved sports and especially football and basketball.  James enjoyed eating homemade soul food and fellowship with family and friends.  James loved his children and grew very close to his only son Nathan “Foot”.  He loved his three daughters and visited with them often to spend time and fellowship.

In addition to his parents James was also preceded in death by three siblings Denise Edwards, Julius Kevin Edwards and Nathan Dwight Edwards.

Left to cherish his memory are his son and daughters.  Nathan Wilson aka “Foot”, Denise Pate Simmons, Delores (Louis) Gaddy and Keisha (Curtis) Edwards Johnson.

Those left to hold him forever in their hearts are his brothers; Terry Edwards, Larry Edwards, Alvin (Cornelia) Edwards and Dale Edwards.

James “Jed” was blessed with 18 grandchildren, Jamaal Pate, Jakobi Gaddy, Kendrick and Quentin Simmons, Shyquel, George Jr aka “Sonson”, and Elijah Allison and Myracle Edwards, Queen, King, Naiomi, Reilly, Nataisia, Chassidy, and Zayden Wilson, Nate Green, Naquan Little, and Travion Ezekiel; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
