Hattie Foster

Hattie Mae Foster, 72 of Thomasville, NC made her transition to her eternal home on Friday, February 19th, 2021.

She was born on April 25th, 1948 in Clarendon County, SC and was the daughter of the late Mary Lou Lawson Johnson and the late Edward (Olin) Beaty

After spending a few years in Hartford, CT, she relocated to Thomasville, NC where she resided.

She was employed by Thomasville Furniture Industries for many years before moving onto the healthcare field as a CNA and earning a CDL permit as a long-haul truck driver of 18 wheelers before retiring.

Hattie Mae was a faithful member of Mt. Olive FBH and the Mt. Olive church family before moving her membership to New Hope Tabernacle of Prayer for all People in Thomasville, NC under the leadership of Chief of Apostle Willie Bogier.

Education: Public Schools Clarendon County, SC.

She loved conversating with special friends Ann Chaney, and Virginia Borden.

Her hobbies included a love for fishing, singing, and visiting with family and friends.

Her last four years were dedicated in the special care of a very dear and devoted caregiver, cousin/sister, Mary (Wilbert) Simon.

She was preceded in death by her husband the late James Thomas Foster (April 2nd, 2017). She was also preceded in death by her sister Shirley Johnson and one brother Jerome Johnson and sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson.

Hattie Mae is survived by Cora Lee Beaty (Mother) of Loris, SC, her one son, Tony Lawson and wife Sherry Lawson of Jefferson, MD; brothers and sisters Mable (Dennis) Sarvis, Olin (Karen), Dwayne (Tracy), and Michael (Pamela) Beaty, SC. Isiah Johnson, Carol Johnson, Muriel Woodbury, Penelope Johnson, Margaret Johnson, Marion (Theresa) Johnson Sr., Calvin (Bernadette) Johnson of CT.

Three grandchildren, Princess of NC, Tyrus (Bianca), and T’Niya Lawson of MD; great grandchildren, Sincere, Rico, and Heaven of NC, and Hayven, and Harmoni Jade of MD; an aunt, Mattie Lawson of GA.  She had a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
