Gregory Goode

Gregory Keith Goode, 56, of High Point, NC departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 16th, 2017, at UNC Health System in High Point.

The son of Otis Kirby and the late Beulah Cuthrell, he was born on September 30, 1960, in High Point, NC.

A resident of High Point all of his life, Gregory graduated from High Point Central High School, where he was a prized football player and played the quarterback position.  Gregory was a member of the Expo Club and the BP's (Black Party).  Through those organizations, he established lifelong friendships with Willie Davis, Jake Hagler, Jerry Briggs, Herbert Young, Keith Murphy, Jimmy Rorie and Carl Reed.  More importantly, this is also where he met and fell in love with his wife, Willie Mae.

Gregory service in the US Army for three years.  After his honorable discharge he worked for Drexel Heritage for 12 years and later employed with Hickory Printing Company for 17 years.

In addition to his mother, Gregory was preceded in death by two sisters, JoAnne Stanback and Sharon Peak and his grandmother, Katherine Goode.

His fond and loving memories will be remember by his devoted of 41 years, Willie Mae Goode of the home; four children, Gregory  A. (Travia) Goode of Greensboro, NC, Bobby Pegram, LaKeith Goode and Shavonda Cuthrell all of High Point, NC; his father, Otis (Lizzie) Kirby of High Point, NC; four brothers, Stevie Williams, Tony (Patricia) Tillman, Dejuan Tillman and Bobby Cuthrell; two sisters, Deborah Kirby and Devonna Johnson; nine grandchildren; two aunts, Margaret Dillard, Eva Mae Gibson; one uncle, Marsh Caple; mother-in-law, Annie Mae Gibson; brothers-in-law, Nick (Nancy) Gibson, Ricky (Charles) Gibson and Gerald (Iris) Gibson; sisters-in-law, Argentina (Reggie) Harris; a host of cousins and other friends.
