Gladys Mateo

Gladys Smith Mateo, age 73 of Elizabeth Town entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 30, 2017.  She recently relocated to High Point, NC.  Gladys was born August 27, 1943 to the late Robert and Isazarah Smith in Bladen Co. NC.

Gladys was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Santos Padillia Mateo; her youngest son, Mike Mateo; four brothers, Robert Smith, Roscoe Smith, Joshua Smith and Joseph Smith; two sisters, Catherine Melvin and Pemmer Mateo.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to: three children, Ada (Jerome) Mateo Bethea of High Point, NC, Santos Mateo Jr. and Carmen Mateo of Elizabeth Town, NC; two sisters, Ellease Smith of Raleigh, NC, Marie Andrus of Sanford, NC; one brother, Samuel Smith of Elizabeth Town, NC; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
