Evangelist Marie Martin

Monday, November 26, 2018, at the age of 64, Evangelist Marie Sturdivant Martin answered a call that could not be ignored, nor put on hold. Without saying goodbye, she glimpsed Heaven and took the master's outstretched hand. Marie was born on Monday, March 29,1954 in Wadesboro, NC (Anson County) to the late Thomass (1989) and Roberta Campbell Sturdivant (1974). Her brothers Paul (1957) and David (1991) both preceded her to eternal rest.

At Cedar creek Baptist Church in Wadesboro, Marie accepted Christ and was baptized at a very young age. She later under the leadership of Bishop A. M. Smith rededicated her life to Christ at True Standard Holiness Church. Her final Christian journey ended at trust in Jesus Outreach Ministry where she served faithfully as the Co-Pastor to her daughter and as a Missionary. Her voice of Evangelism could be heard on WOKX Radio Ministry in High Point, as well as on WTNC Radio and Television Prayer Ministry in Thomasville, North Carolina.

Retail sales was her profession for years. She shared her lovely smile and provided outstanding customer service for Dilliard's departments store until leaving the workforce due to health concerns.

In 1972, she graduated from High Point Central High School and continued her education at Brookstone Business College.

Endless love and cherished memories will forever be in the heart of her husband: Larry Martin, Daughter, Monica Maria Ledbetter, and sons: Jermayne Jarvia Ledbetter and Antonio Davod Ledbetter all of High Point, NC, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Loving memories will also be treasured by her brothers, William Sturdivant (Juanita) and Johnny Sturdivant both of Albany, New York, Sisters, Bessie S. Benson (Richard) of Albany, New York, Lucille S. Crump and Annie Ruth Sturdivant both of High Point, North Carolina, several nieces and nephews, cousins too numerous to count and many very dear friends.
