Evangelist Dwan Phifer

December 20, 1944 — July 19, 2019

Evangelist Dwan Benjamin Phifer, 74, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Maryfield at Pennybyrn, Jamestown, NC. He was born December 20, 1944 in High Point, NC, to Floyd Phifer Jr. and Rebecca McWilliams Phifer.

Evangelist Phifer was a veteran of the United States Marines he served in the Vietnam War and was recognized as a POW.  He attended North Carolina A&T briefly studying Liberal Arts. He worked as a welder at Mickey Body, Thomas Buses, and started his own business, Triad Security Screens Windows.

Dwan surrender his life to Christ in the late 80’s at Living Waters Baptist Church. He served God faithfully as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, singing on the choir and helping with the youth.  Dwan had a passion for winning souls for Christ and helping those who could not get to a church building for whatever reasons.  God gave him a vision of Prayer on Wheels Evangelistic Ministries World Wide that lined up with his true calling, an Evangelist; he then began to preach and teach the word of God on the streets at local neighborhoods and other surrounding communities as well as various cities and states, leading many to Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Phifer Jr. and Rebecca McWilliams Phifer; his sister, Trez Mc Lendon.

Dwan is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Mary Louise Lockhart Phifer; five children: Rodney (Kym) Phifer of Martinsville, VA, Darren (LaCindra) Phifer, Geneva (Wilkie) Dawkins, Jermaine (Brenda) Phifer, and David Phifer all High Point. Dwan loved his family and loved his grandchildren he had 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
