Essie Jordon

Mrs. Essie Mae “Ms. Koot” Gaffney Jordan, 90 of High Point, NC departed this earthly life on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Genesis Nursing Home. She was born in Union County, NC on February 20, 1923 to the late Mr. Arthur Gaffney and Mrs. Ellen Caldwell Gaffney. She attended Union County Public Schools.

Essie was employed as a Boarding Home Manager for many years. She was married to J.T. Jordan.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Earl Gaffney; her sisters and brothers, Daisy Lee Gaffney Johnson, June Gaffney, Arthur Gaffney Jr., Clarence Gaffney and Ada Mae Gaffney Fuller.

She leaves to cherish her memories; one son, John Lewis Jordan of NY; one brother, James Edward Gaffney of High Point, NC; granddaughters, Renee Gaffney of New Jersey, Teresa Gaffney Jones of Union, SC and Valerie Gaffney Greene of New York; a daughter-in-law, Vernell Gaffney of New York; a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
