Edward Robinson

Edward Thomas Robinson, 52, better known to some as Karate, Eddie and to his family as Snookie, passed away on June 30, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital, in Lexington, NC.

Edward was born on July 18, 1954, in Hamlet, NC, to Edmond Robinson Jr. and Gladys Gibson Robinson. He was preceded in death by his father, Edmond (Stringbean) Robinson, Jr.

Edward was of the Baptist faith. He was a student of High Point city schools. He also was a professional gospel bass player. Two of the nationally known groups he played for were The Williams Brothers of Smithdale, MS and Willie Neil Johnson and the Gospel Keynotes of Tyler, TX. He also played for various groups in High Point, NC, the latest being Pete Jackson and the Mighty Golden Hearts.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gladys Gibson Robinson; two brothers, Edmond (Nancy) Robinson III and Curtis Robinson both of High Point, NC; three sisters, Helen (Harvey) Little, Doris Robinson and G. Evon Robinson all of High Point, NC.; one uncle, T.J. Gibson; two aunts, Mildred Lawson and Bloomer Gibson; seven nephews, Steve (Bionne) Palmer, James (Malika) Super, Kenneth (Tracey) Robinson, Rod (Tina) McCoy, Paul (Valencia) Robinson, B. Rayvon (Christy) Robinson, Gregory Burgess; eight nieces, Melmar Ford, Tammy Super, Theresa Vance, Deborah McCoy; twelve great nephews, thirteen great nieces and his loving fiancée, Edna M. Smith of Lexington, NC, a host of other relatives and friends.
