Edward Lindsay Sr.

Edward Lindsay Sr.,77, transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Anson County, NC to Edmond and Mary Lou Watson Lindsey.

Edward was affectionately known to family and friends as "June." Edward was united in holy matrimony to Josie Ann Deberry Lindsay. "June" was a wonderful person who loved his family and loved helping in any way he could to anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren especially vacationing at Myrtle Beach.

Edward was a faithful employee with Akzo Nobel Inc. retiring as a supervisor. He was a devoted deacon and kitchen committee president at Solid Rock Baptist Church, he truly loved the Lord and his church.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife; one daughter; Phyllis Lindsay; his parents; two brothers; James Lindsay and Freddie Lindsay.

June will be sadly missed by his five children; Johnny (Brenda) Townsend, Johnnie Deberry, Linda Lindsay, Edward Lindsay Jr., and Delores Lindsay. Eight sisters; Cora (Lonnie) Tillman, Betty Townsend, Emma (Lewis) Townsend, Elaine Harris Rich, Annie Ruth Lindsay, Lenora Evans, Doris Lindsay and Gussie Lindsay. Two brothers; Charles (Karen) Lindsay and Michael Lindsay; four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law, twenty grandchildren; twenty-two great- grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
