DeJuana Phifer

December 24, 1966 — April 2, 2026

Dejuana Renee Phifter, age 59 affectionately known as “Nay Nay,” was born December 24, 1966, to the late Helen Yvonne Carter.

A born resident of High Point, NC, Dejuana graduated from Ragsdale High School, class of 1984. After graduating she enlisted in the United States Air Force. She was actively discharged after nine years of active service. Dejuana continued to serve in the Air Force as an Inactive Ready Reserve Corps.

Dejuana worked as Customer Service Representative for American Express until her health started to decline.

In 1998 she met the love of her life, Anthony T. Phifer. There were united in marriage on October 21, 2000. To their union they had two sons. Xzavier and Quinten.

She joined The Look to Jesus Ministry in 1999. She served as an usher with faith and diligence. In her spare time, she loved to bake and was an excellent cook for her dear family. She enjoyed being a caregiver to children and loved to watch wrestling. She also enjoyed watching football. Her favorite team was Kansas City Chiefs. (Go Chiefs!”).

In addition to her mother, Dejuana was also preceded in death by her brother, Adrian Carter; her grandmother, Mary Lee Carter; father-in-law, James Phifer; three aunts, one uncle, and two in-laws.

She leaves to cherish fond memories to her loving husband, Anthony Phifer; two sons, Quinten Miller and Xzavier and Phifer; one grandson, Nathaniel Miller, who she absolutely adored; two bonus children, Sherrell LeGrande, Reba McDaniel; two aunts, Sharon (Jerry) Miller, Debra Carters; two uncles, Otis (Shirley) Carter and Marvin Gash; mother-in-law, Geraldine Phifer; four nieces, Crystin, Megan, Cameron and Jessica; two nephews, Michael, Rashawn; a host of other family and friends.

She fought a good fight, well done faithful servant.
