Darlene Tomlin

Darlene Cassandra Tomlin, daughter of the late John King Tomlin and Viola Waden, was born December 30, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, following an earthly life of 60 years she departed this life on January 20, 2018, in High Point, North Carolina.

She spent her earliest years in Roosevelt, New York, where she attended Roosevelt School system. She was very well known among her teachers and peers. She later relocated to High Point, North Carolina, where she attained her Certified Nursing Assistant license and also technical certification for Administrative Assistant from Guilford Technical Community College. She became an ordained minister in 1997, under Bishop Barbara Johnson of Blessed redeemer Church in High Point, North Carolina. She later served under the ministry of Apostle Frank Smith of High Point deliverance church also of High Point, North Carolina. In her final years she attended Chosen Generation Ministries under Pastor Steven Terrell Kenan located in High Point, North Carolina.

Yet she always felt her greatest ministry was the love she shown toward her children and grandchildren, which extended always to everyone and anyone she met, young and old.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Tomlin, one son, Kenneth Ron Howard, grandson, Wyatt Demond Eury-Tomlin and one sister, Janice Tanksley

Loving memories will be held by her children, Tanesha (Tyrone) Williams of Aiken, South Carolina, Corey Settles, Danielle Howard, Johnathan Tomlin and Lakeisha Robinson, all of High Point, North Carolina, 18 beautiful grandchildren and beautiful great-grandchildren, one brother, James (Brenda) Waden of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sisters, Dorothy ( Robert) Feimster King of Capital Heights, Maryland, Reggy (Kenny) David, Leola Jones, Lavada Bellot, Yvonne Tomlin, all of High Point, North Carolina, Juanita (Herman) Rowe of Randallstown, Maryland and Ardis (James) Brown of Greensboro, North Carolina. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews that she shared a great bond with, as well as numerous cousins, family and friends.
