Catherine Smith

Mrs. Catherine Ellerbe Smith, age 57 of High Point, NC passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015. Born Aug. 10, 1957 in Rockingham County, NC, Catherine was the daughter of Gracie Mae Diggs and the late Roosevelt Scott. She was a member of Life Changing International Church. She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Carolyn Scott. Catherine is survived by two children; Louis Ellerbe and daughter, Linda Ann Ellerbe both of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Zwayarie Ellerbe, Zalayah Ellerbe, Josie Ellerbe and Aaliyah Shoe all of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Mrs. Gracie Mae Ellerbe Diggs; two sisters, Mae Ellerbe (James Lloyd) of High Point, NC and Sallie Patterson of Rockingham, NC; five brothers, James Thomas Diggs (Gladys Brown), Joe Lewis Diggs (Deraldine Blocker) and James Jr. (Dreba) Diggs, Luke Jr. Diggs III (Keisha Hicks) all of High Point, NC and Alvin (Johnice) Scott of Maryland; two step-fathers, Luke Jr. Diggs and James Fitzgerald; three nieces, Juanita Ellerbe, Christine (Al) Williams and Neco (Arthur) McFadden all of High Point, NC; aunts, Mrs. Annie Lee Scott (John Jr. Hamilton) of Hamlet, NC, Lizzie Mae Williams of Rockingham, NC; uncles, Mr. Sam Scott of Candor, NC and Mr. Albert Jr. (Betty Jean) Short of Rockingham, NC; one nephew, Ronnie Ellerbe of High Point, NC; a host of other relatives and friends, although not named you where special in Catherine’s life.
